Everyone asks, “Where did you get the name GettiGear and what does it mean”.

My family decided to name our store after our first dog Getty. Getty was a Collie/Australian Shepherd mix. She was very active, smart and thoughtful. Getty always kept everyone together by running circles around us (her herding instincts).

Getty was one of a kind dog, part of our family for 13 years. The name GettiGear will carry on her name in very special way.

We opened GettiGear at 24 North Street in Hingham, MA. GettiGear was established to provide women of all ages and sizes a broad selection of unique and fashionable active wear at a variety of price points.  I was inspired by so many women, who I see every day, doing something active to be fit and healthy. I’d often heard it was difficult to find items like a quality, fun, reasonably priced tennis skirt, golf skort, or rowing shorts, and decided to fulfill the need for a variety of clothing and accessories that couldn’t be found locally.

We all know being healthy and enjoying exercise is such an important part of life. GettiGear is here for the life-long sports and fitness enthusiasts, as well as someone who is just venturing into exercise. Our clothing and accessories enhance how you feel because we choose lines for their performance fabrics, beautiful patterns and excellent fit. Many of our accessories are eco-friendly, as well as fun and functional.

As we evolve our store and our website, women from all over will be able to shop with us online.
